As eons passed and the volcanoes fell silent, one race became blessed by the Fates to possess the powers of the elements and much more. These powerful people even though they stayed to themselves and even hunted their own if they threatened the fragile countries around them…they became the hunted. Men, women, children were all executed, just because of where they were born.

Guardians scrambled to save a generation of Berserker children, the last children of Helvrak, now laid waste by the Fates. They scattered them across the mighty continent and hoped when they came of age they would somehow repopulate their old country. Many were killed as children, in the midlands of Aalunda only two survived. One raised in a courtly castle under the tutelage of the King of Guttesh. The other survived by wit and a fierceness of self preservation. These two come face to face during a critical moment in time. Aina and Vidarr soon find themselves in each others arms as they fight to survive not only among the countries of men but in the forests and deserts as the volcanoes once again began to shake the world.
